Vacillate - waver (in opinion), fluctuate
Usage - He vacillates between accepting the new position and retirement.
Link - sounds like OScillate..so something which moves from one position to another position...
Link2 - sounds like waise hi let(sleep in english) ja....while doing it you switch to many positions...thus fluctuating positions...

Vagabond - wanderer
Usage - He led a vagabond life.
Link - this word can be thought as Vagabond = James Bond the spy, does not live at one permanent place and is always seen wandering all over the world...
Link2 - wagha + border............at this place military people keep on wandering to keep close watch on activities...

Vagary - capricious happening, an unexpected and inexplicable change in something
Usage - His wealth fluctuates with the vagaries of the stock market.
Link - vagary..break it as vage+ary ,the vage is vague and ary=action meaning something that is vague and not predictable ...

Vainglorious - boastful, excessively conceited, feeling self importance
Usage -  Tony Blair, perfectly illustrates this, a prancing, posing, vainglorious man.
Link -  all your glorious achievements are in vain if you boast about them....

Valediction - saying farewell, expression of leave-taking 
Link - Valediction comes from validity i.e. expiry of something...which is the end or pertaining to a farewell of something...
Link2 - When a prostitute was about to quit from her profession she said..."mein to us wale dick se hi karwaungi."...referring to man with largest dick...
Vapid - lacking liveliness, dull and unimaginative, insipid and flavorless
Usage - The soup was very bland. 
Link - vapid sounds similar to rapid... If you cook in a rapid manner, you may spoil the taste of the food, or say, when you eat rapidly..you may not get the taste of the food...

Variegate - change the appearance of
Usage - It would be nice if you could variegate your menu more often.
Link - variegate: add variety to an object by making it in many colours. variegate==variety...
Link2 -   If we drop the letter 'g' and take the word as varied+ate...they ATE from a VARIED range of foodstuff...

Vassal - subordinate or dependent, a person who owes service to a feudal lord
Link - Sounds like vasool. One who has to give a vasool is a vassal...
Link2 - Vassal and vessel are similar in sound. A vassal (slave) carries the vessels (utensils) to the kitchen....

Veer - to change the direction suddenly
Usage - The motorbike veered to the right
Link - After taking BEER all directions change!!!
Link2 - A veer(brave person) can change the result of a battle suddenly....
Link3 -  Veer and steer are rhyming words. Veer means to change direction and steer means to direct the course of, guide....

Vegetate - live in a monotonous way (without interests or activity)
Usage - After a hard day's work, I vegetate in front of the television
Link - relate it to vegetarian = one who never takes meat or any of its products but only vegetables therefore has a monotonous taste of food...

Vehement - forceful, intensely emotional, with marked vigor  
Usage - She spoke vehemently on the topic of immoral things.
Link - Vehement resembles cement i.e. strong, forceful (cement expands inwards with immense pressure and force) vehement == cement...
Link2 - After doing it, the girl said ki mujhe to wahi man chahiye fir se.....
