A-27

Apogee - highest point, point farthest from the earth
Usage - The moon had reached its apogee from the Earth.
Link - Apogee = Up+ho+gee (ho ji -> like in hindi).. So what is up, is at the highest point.

Apolitical - having an aversion or lack of concern for political affairs
Usage - She always stayed out of discussions due to her apolitical views.
Link - a=without + politics=political affairs.....i.e without political affairs.

Apostate - one who abandons his religious faith or political beliefs
Usage - The parishioners excommunicated the apostate from their parish.
Link - apostate can be thought of as 'opposite state'.. That is changing to the opposite state, and not loyal to his current state..

Apostle - a person who us a strong believer of it and promotes it
Link - An apostle of love, posting love letters.

Apothecary - compact saying, adage, epigram
Usage - The apothecary mixed various substances together to make the antidote. 
Link - a + pot + he + cary ~ imagine a pharmacist carrying drugs in a pot.

Aphasia - loss of speech due to injury or illness
Usage - The neurologist informed the parents that their son suffered from aphasia. 
Link - a + phasia ~ a + face (sounds like); Imagine as if you suffering from some injury on face and hence can't speak to anyone.

Aphorism - short phrase that say something true or wise
Usage - “Believe nothing you hear, and only half of what you see” is a famous aphorism attributed to Mark Twain.
Link1 - "Whorism is bad"..is an aphorism said by me.
Link2 - a + phor (for); Kids are generally taugt like "A for apple".. and there is a famous aphorism "An apple a day keeps the doctor away."


Apiary - a place where bees are kept
Usage - The loud buzzing coming from the apiary indicated that it was full.
Link1 -  Apiary~ a + pia(pie) i.e,if a pie is kept on the table bees will come to eat it.
Link2 -  Ape never loiter around apiary.

Aplomb - poise,self confidence, to do something with confidence and in a relaxed way
Usage - She has more poise and confidence than him.
Link - aplomb ~ a + pl (people) + OM; people normally chant 'OM' when they do meditation to keep themselves cool under strain. 

Apocryphal - widely believed but untrue
Usage - Most of the stories about Michael Jackson are apocryphal.
Link - apocryphal = apo + cry + phal;..Apoo cried when doctor told him that all phals(fruits) are restricted for him which was an apocryphal assumed by he doctor when someone suffers from sexual disorders.

Antipathy - aversion; dislike or opposition
Usage - It was with great aversion that she agreed to go with him.
Link1 -  remember antipathy as anti party. in politics the people of anti-party are quite opposite in feeling.
Link2 - Aunties are always against sending their daughters with horny and naughty guys.

Antithesis - contrast; direct opposite of or to; ADJ. antithetic or antithetical
Usage - His theory is the antithesis of mine.
Link -  antithesis ~ anti + the + sis; We are always anti (against) sister's(sis) boyfriends.

Apathy - lack of caring, indifference, lack of concern
Usage - The government is taking steps to reduce voter apathy in view of the upcoming elections.
Link1 - a (negative) + pathy : root "pathy" means feeling as in sympathy; so apathy means having no feeling for others or lacking interest in something.
Link2 - A pati(husband) never behaves as apathy to his wife or else he faces consequences.

Ape - imitate or mimic
Usage - Jones is a great ape when it comes to mimicking politicians.
Link - Apes or monkeys can imitate human actions efficiently.

Apex - tip; summit; climax; highest point
Usage - The Solar Apex refers to the direction that the sun travels through space.
Link - Ape+x...Consider an Ape using AXE deo..that would be highest point of nonsense.

Anorexia - loss of appetite
Link - Suffering from anorexia because of eating rassi(rope) along with ann(food).

Antagonism - feelings of hatred and opposition
Usage - The medicines injected into the patient were not working due to antagonism.
Link1 - anta (anti, against) + go + nism; Going against someone is being hostile or opposing to someone.
Link2 - Aunty Antra is an antagonist as she always opposes me to go out with her daughter.

Antediluvian - very old fashioned
Usage - A lot of people gathered to pay their last respects to the antediluvian. 
Link1 - antediluvian ~ anti (against) + luv (love); If you are against love, you are probably a person with antediluvian thoughts.
Link2 - Antediluvian = Aunty+de+luv..; Usually, Loving and Caring Aunties are OLD... very Old.. and hence the meaning...don't mix it up with milfs...

Anthology - collection of poems, stories, experts (Analects)
Usage - This anthology contains the most humorous short stories ever written. 
Link -  Ana Analects lekar ayi to raise my vocabulary.

Antidote - a substance that controls, remedy to counteract a poison
Usage - The antidote was injected quickly into the snakebite victim.
Link - anti + dote ~ against + dots; You have some dots (marks) on your face and you are looking for some antidote to remove them (go against them).

Annihilate - to destroy completely
Usage - The tiger on hills annihilated a large number of people.
Link1 - Annihilate ~ Eliminate; So to ELIMINATE someone completely from your life.. means to kill them.
Link2 - The police said to a group of terrorists,"If anyone hila(move)...I will destroy him.".


Annul - make void
Usage - The contract was annulled.
Link - an + nul ~ so to nullify something means to make it zero or to make it void.

Anodyne - drug that relieves pain or trouble
Usage - It is harmful to eat too many anodynes.
Link - After dining with Anu, I have to take an anodyne to lessen pain in my dick.

Anoint - to put oil on
Usage - The young prince was anointed by the cardinal.
Link - an + oint ~ ointment; ointment ~ oil; some oil applied to hair.

Anomaly - deviation
Usage - The astronomers studied the anomaly of the moon.
Link - anomaly ~ a (not) + nomaly (normally); someone who is not normal and hence abnormal or deviating from general.

Animadversion - criticism, savage, critical remark
Usage - Animadversion on the new version of CAT, GRE etc.
Link1 - anima + advert ~ animal advertisement; You are definitely going to disapprove the idea of advertising animals on Television. 
Link2 - Any mad person will start criticizing boldness of Rakhi Sawant.

Animosity - strong feeling of opposition, anger or hatred
Usage - The neighbours decided to put an end to their animosity.
Link - pronounce animosity like 'Enemy'sity. so i someone is having "enemysity" he will have ill intentions.

Animus - hostile feeling or intent; animosity; hostility; disposition
Link - pronounce it like 'enemy'us. So, our enemies are always hostile towards us.

Annals - records arranged in yearly parts; history
Usage - The annals of history are filled with countless wars.
Link1 - annals ~ annual; maintaining record or history of something we did through out the year.
Link2 - sounds like anal...a porn site keeps history of all porn in involving anal....i think u understand.

Anneal - reduce brittleness and improve toughness by heating and cooling (metal or glass)
Usage - The glass was annealed to obtain the desired shape.
Link - To do anal, you have to nail her by fixing the girl into right position just like heating and cooling a glass.

Analogous - comparable, similar
Usage - The wings of a bee and those of a hummingbird are analogous.
Link - ana+"log"+ous : in log tables all values seem similar, so these are analogous. 

Anchor - secure or fasten firmly; be fixed in place;
Usage - The ship dropped its anchor as it arrived at the dock.
Link1 - anchor is also a toothpaste brand in India...it holds your teeth.
Link2 - n + chor ~ a chord; chord is a straight line connecting two points on a circle and hence is just like fastening something. 

Anecdote - a short, interesting or amusing story about a real person or event
Usage - Grandpa kept us amused with anecdotes of his childhood.
Link - so the other day i was talking to my GF and a biker suddenly came and snathed her chain. bloody MoFo ne uski neck tode di. nice story eh?

Anguish - severe pain, mental suffering or unhappiness
Usage - After losing the match the team was plunged into anguish.
Link - Anguish in every ang(body part) of this man after doing it with an old mature lady.

Angular - thin and without much flesh so that bones are visible, not rounded, sharp cornered
Usage - The angular structure of the building was interesting.
Link -  angular sounds angle.... so have an angle.
