P-13

Primogeniture - state of being the first-born child, right of the eldest child (to inherit the entire property of one or both parents)
Usage - Following the law of primogeniture, the king left his kingdom to his elder son, Richard. 
Link - sounds like PRIMoGENITure... Considered PRIMary Due to GENTIC importance(genetically important or born first)....

Privation - lack of basic necessities or comforts of life
Usage - The prisoners faced privation from their captors, and many of them starved to death. 
Link - sounds like PRIVACY.. what do YOU need for privacy, a room, house, but if you don't even have that then you won't be able to do it in public...

Privy - knowledge of something secret or private
Usage - After a long journey, the traveler rushed to the privy to relieve himself. 
Link - privy lace where knowledge of intercourse is taught... :P
Link2 - sounds like priv(PRIVATE)+Y.......SO A PRIVATE DISCUSSION IS ALWAYS secret and hidden from others....

Probity - degree of honesty
Usage - He enjoys an exaggerated reputation for probity
Link - probe is to find out something....CBI is probing in his financial probity....
Link2 - now a days probability of finding a honest person is very less...

Prodigal - wasteful, willing to spend money
Usage - The prodigal squandered all his wealth in gambling.
Link - sounds like prod(rodies) +gals(girls)=extravagance. If you are with girls of rodies then you have to be extravagant....

Profane - violate
Usage - Do not profane the name of God by taking it in vain. 
Link - sounds like porn films....when a person is a fan" of porn" films then he is violated from the good people's gang....

Profligate - wasteful, prodigal
Usage - The profligate doesn’t think twice when buying a new cell phone or laptop. 
Link - Profligate= spend Profusely like bill Gates...
Link2 - split it like prof(professor)+li(lee)+g+ate(past of eat)..your Professor whose son bought a Lee jeans spent all of his father's money .. eating at all five stars hotels...what a wasteful use of your Professor's money....

Progeny - a person's children, offspring
Usage - The Duke’s estate was to be equally divided among his numerous progeny. 
Link -  sounds like Provide Gene i.e ur offsprings....

Prognosis - a forecast(of a disease), prediction 
Usage -  The medical prognosis of the tuberculosis patient seemed positive.
Link - sounds like pro+diagnosis, pro= think forward, diagnosis = cause of disease, it means to predict the features of a disease before the disease itself....

Prognosticate - predict  (according to present indications)
Usage - The heavy gales and dark skies prognosticated that a hurricane was on its way.
Link - sounds like PROgKNOWsticate. a PRO KNOWS enough to make a prediction...

Proletarian - a worker, member of the working class, blue collar guy 
Usage - The proletarian aired his grievances to the committee.
Link - sounds like pre+literacy....literacy se pehle all the persons are doing low profile jobs....they generally wear blue dress(remember at petrol pumps)...
Proliferate - grow rapidly
Usage - We must not proliferate nuclear arms
Link - sounds like pro + life + rate : increase in rate of production (pro) of life (living organisms) causes population to increase rapidly....
Link2 - sounds like pro + life + rate : in our professional (pro) life, we should work at faster rate to grow rapidly.....

Prolific - producing offspring or fruit in abundance, fertile, fecund
Usage - The orchard was full of prolific guava, apple, and mango trees.
Link - sounds like Production Lifted...They produced large amounts of the product...their production was lifted up in amount.....They were PROLIFIC....

Prolixity - tedious wordiness, boring verbosity
Usage - The novel’s prolixity made me vow to never read another book by the same author.
Link - sounds like COMPLEXITY - complex words, work are always difficult and boring to understand....imagine in a GD or PI, if the other persons use difficult words you become bore...

Promulgate - announce, announce a new doctrine or law publicly
Usage - The new law promulgates the abolition of slavery.
Link -  Prom (promote)+ul+gate. So promoting something out of the gate, i.e. to make known by opening the gate (or opening declaration) to everyone out there...
Link2 - the mall's gate will close at 9pm...this was promulgated...
Propensity - a natural tendency to a particular kind of behavior
Usage - The Doctor warned us that cancer had a high propensity to spread very fast.
Link - sounds like propagation+city....now a days people are inclined towards "CITY" so they are shifting to cities from villages....
Link2 - he haspropensity for "pen se seeti" bajana since birth...

Prophylactic - a medicine which prevents disease
Usage - The government has started a drive to provide free prophylactics to men in order to curb the rise of sexually transmitted diseases.
Link - the doctor filled lactic acid as a prophylactic...
Link2 - The professor rubs lactic acid(curds) inside his condom(Protection) for lubrication to prevent AIDS..

Propinquity - nearness (in space or relationship), proximity, kinship
Usage - Ritu’s parents objected to her proximity to the male members of her class. 
Link - Propinquity has "PIN: in it. If you pin two things together they are close together 
Link2 - since the alphabets P & Q are in close proximity to each other, they are in propinquity ....

Propitiate - appease, peaceful, placate
Usage - No amount of gifts sent by Pradeep could propitiate Sandhya.
Link - sounds like propiti + ate .. propiti sounds very close to property.. + ate .. so just imagine if you elder brother ate (here it means encroach) all your property ....you will quarrel with him... your father will try to appease or pacify you...
Link2 - PROf+PITI- if you want professor's pity then you would have to appease him/her...

Propitious - favorable, auspicious, advantageous, fortunate 
Usage - Paul looked for a propitious moment to propose to Annie. 
Link - sounds like profitious.. hence its profitable and thus favorable..
Link2 - sounds like property-if you have got lot of property, you are FORTUNATE to get it..money is basically considered AUSPICIOUS and you can make any adverse situation FAVORABLE TO you if you posses money. 

Proponent - supporter, backer 
Usage - Martin Luther King was a major proponent of the American Civil Rights Movement. 
Link - person opposite to opponent is a proponent...

Propound - to suggest an idea or explanation of something for people to consider, put forth for consideration or analysis
Usage - It is sometimes said that Isaac Newton propounded the theory of gravity after an apple fell on his head.
Link - propo(propose) + ound(round) = what do we propose at a round table, an idea, guys :)
Link2 - my girlfriend propounded an idea to go to a pond and do it there..
Propriety - fitness, quality of being proper
Usage - Propriety demanded that we invite the new neighbors over.
Link - divide the word as propr+iety ..propr(sounds like PROPER)..hence it refers to being PROPER or CORRECT IN CONDUCT..
Link2 - sounds like pretty if you wanna look pretty you have to behave in correct manner...

Prosaic - dull and unimaginative
Usage - Amit was tired of his prosaic job as a clothes salesman.
Link - sounds like mosaic--->beautiful artistic work with full of vibrant colours.....prosaic ...opposite of that ...dull...
